Matt Sands, Winemaker & General Manager, leads the Lithology winemaking team, alongside assistant winemaker Mark Pittman and consultants Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky. Together, they pair geological insight with precise winemaking to shape a small-lot collection each vintage.
Our Wines Single-Vineyard and Cuvee Collections
The portfolio is anchored around single-vineyard wines, led by Cabernet Sauvignons from Beckstoffer’s renowned To Kalon, Las Piedras, and Dr. Crane vineyards, with the new addition of Steltzner Vineyard to the collection with the 2023 vintage release. The white wine single-vineyard program features Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay and Estate Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc.
Above these vineyard-designate wines sits a special cuvée and our flagship wine —Alejandro Bulgheroni Cabernet Sauvignon - crafted from the year’s most compelling barrels. Two Napa Valley AVA wines round out the red portfolio, Lithology Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Lithology Napa Valley Cabernet Franc.

The Lithology Estate on Meadowood Lane sits quietly at the base of Howell Mountain, a historic property, intimate by design and unhurried by intention. Each visit is private and bespoke, crafted for the guest and built around the wines themselves: the Single-Vineyard collection, the soils behind each bottle, and the work taking shape in the cellar.
